The goal of the winter element of the Grand défi is to introduce young people from all over to the pleasures of cross-country skiing, and to encourage them to be more active during winter.
All winter long.
The offer is for all primary schools in Quebec, and all children 12 years and under.
Participating cross-country ski centres welcome Quebec primary schools and children 12 years and under for free. Children have access to the ski trails as well as full equipment rental including skis, boots and poles.

Cross country skiers can go to the Chalet des sports at 200 Côte de la Mer, Notre-Dame-du-Portage
Free trail access for everyone. Children aged 12 and under can borrow equipment for free. Adults can rent equipment for $10.
Trails are open during the week from sunrise to sunset. Please note that Chalet des sports (to rent or borrow equipment) opens at 3 p.m. weekdays.

Involvement of partner centres
The program’s partner centres are committed to welcoming Quebec elementary schools and children aged 12 and under for free, at all times. The centres will lend equipment (cross-country skis, boots and ski poles) and help schools by offering winter sports classes.
