WHAT ?
The goal of the winter program of the Grand défi is to introduce young people from all backgrounds to the pleasures of cross-country skiing and to encourage them to be more active during winter.

Participating cross-country ski centers welcome Quebec primary schools and children 12 years old and under. Children have free access to the ski trails as well as full equipment rental including skis, boots and poles.

WHEN ?
All winter long :

  • During the week with your school.
  • During the weekend with your family.

WHO ?
The offer is for all primary schools in Quebec, and all children 12 years and under.

Cross country skiers can go to the Chalet des sports at 200 Côte de la Mer, Notre-Dame-du-Portage

Free trail access for everyone. Children aged 12 and under can borrow equipment for free. Adults can rent equipment for $10.

Trails are open during the week from sunrise to sunset. Please note that Chalet des sports (to rent or borrow equipment) opens at 3 p.m. weekdays.

Become a partner ski center

The ski center’s role
Ski centers that would like to partner with La Petite Expé program must agree to welcome Quebec elementary schools and children aged 12 and under for free, at all times. The centers will lend equipment (cross-country skis, boots and ski poles) and help schools organize their winter sports classes.

Grand Défi’s role
In return, the Grand défi will provide partner ski centers with cross-country skis, boots and poles.
