The mission of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie is to encourage Quebecers to adopt healthy lifestyle habits. To achieve this goal, the Grand défi works to mobilize communities to encourage seniors to choose a healthy lifestyle on a regular basis.

The Energy Cubes Challenge meets this objective by motivating seniors and their families to get moving for fun!
Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover a new activity to get you moving when you take part in the Energy Cubes Challenge. It could even become a new habit in your daily routine!

Ideas for actionUse a notebook or sheet of paper to record the Energy Cubes you accumulate. Then pass this total on to your local Energy Cubes Challenge manager.
Seniors center participants and their families (siblings, children and grandchildren, etc.)
To qualify for the Energy Cubes accumulated by the family, the activity must be performed with the participant. Each immediate family member earns 1 Energy Cube for every 15 minutes of physical activity performed with the participant.
Any group or solo activity that requires a physical expenditure of energy or increases heart rate is eligible for the accumulation of Energy Cubes. Here are a few examples: walking, Zumba, line dancing, yoga, etc.
